Thank you Rayjan!

It sounds like a good all rounder, and anything that helps stress

is definitely worth trying. I'll look for it. xB

Yes, I tried Tai Chi classes but they fizzled out. DVD sounds great idea .. I use Wii fit with DVD.

Good for you Rayjan! Exercise is so beneficial physically and mentally, as well as a great stress reducer! I’ve never tried Tai Chi, but heard it’s helpful for ataxia! I’m going to look for the DVD, thanks for sharing!.., ;o)

Hi there,

I also have a Tai Chi CD. Yes I have heard of it, and one of my neurologist's advised me to take it up. I had a private teacher for a while but I could not remember the moves from week to week (very different than aerobics) and dropped him. I also didn't like his attitude. He was totally perplexed by ataxia and had never heard of it. Maybe, inspired by you, I will take it up again using the CD.

I love tai chi! I also fizzled out at the beginning of the year as my symptoms became worse. As soon as I feel better I’ll go again. Love the idea of the seated tai chi.

brill brill brill....I've been looking for info on tai-chi as an alternative excercise for my partner. He's only just been diagnosed with dystonia, ataxia and osteoarthritis as well as 2 bulging discs in his cervical spine. I thought tai-chi would be good as it is such a gentle way to exercise. will let you know how it goes...he hasn't been referred to any specialists yet so we don't know which types his disorders are.
