Medical marijuana for spasticity/pain

Eric, other degenerative brain diseases affect balance, like Parkinson's, MS, ALS and medical marijuana is approved for those diseases. I don't think the governor skipped Ataxia because he was knowledgeable, rather he and his staff are not aware of this condition.

Marijuana affects your balance. Just what you don't want with Ataxia. The governor was correct in his call

After a solid year of being passed around from one specialist to another without any diagnosis other than “Ataxia”, I stopped seeing Doctors. It has been more than three years since my last appointment. I am 75 years old, I work full time with a long-time employer who created a new position in his company for me. My symptoms are the spastic walk and numbness in my hands, feet, forearms and calfs. I have always been a tireless worker and the disease was at first devastating for me, but a questionable decision on my part to purchase an aging commercial fishing boat and then remodel it myself and live aboard is paying dividends. Without a doubt my physical condition has improved greatly although at a snail’s pace. I credit the use of old muscles for the impovement. When I tried using marijuana the results were terrible. It was as though all the physical gains were lost and it was a great relief to me when the effects of marijuana left my system.br/>

My pro’s and cons and beliefs are exactly the same as Adam. It helps in so many ways and my late dad (who I inherited my Ataxia from) swore by it.

I have never had pain to use it but I would if I needed it. I have an uncle that had post-polio and a sister-in-law that has spinal stenosis and they both used it and it helped both of them. I say try it and if it works keep using it.

They put my daughter on marinol which is medical marijuana she seemed to be calm not as resistant to touch. We are trying now to get as much info and treatment options for her dad. Since she has passed due to complications with SCA7. In infancy it is lethal.

I live in Utah and don't give a rip about what the State says, I smoke whenever I get the foggy/ nobody's home brain. It also helps with my slurring speech and muscle Charlie's. I don't use that often, but it sure does help. It's the only thing I have that helps me. I thank some of my friends who give me "Pinches" for free> God Bless Em! If they catch me I guess I be getting 3 hots & a cot, and they can pay for my Doctor bills.
