Still no news about communication aid.

The snow has thawed here just a few big lumps of hard snow in fields but pavements and roads are clear.

I'm meant to be having an assessment this week wednesday morning but cant get an interpreter. The lady doing assessment is away until Tuesday so I cant find out until she returns whether she can do Wed afternoon or Thurs afternoon to fit in with when social worker is free to interpret.

I tidied lounge today am planning to do bedroom tomorrow and kitchen on Tuesday, as I think she will be assessing my abilities in all rooms like cooking, transferring to bed/toilet/sofa's etc as well as other things like using walking aids.

Not sure how long it takes as they were meant to send me a questionnaire with the letter but didnt, so will have to fill that in on the day so that will be slow as I cant write well so interpreter will have to interpret my answers for woman to write.

I am thinking of typing up what I can and cant do to hand to her as that will probably be mainly what she wants to know and help her to fill form in quicker.

I was told on a forum for communication aid users that it can take several months for them to order and get through all the red tape. Although I was told the week before last the guy was going to try and get the order in before the end of that week I haven't heard anything so am left to assume that its still not ordered!

Just to have to hope I dont have any more allergic reactions until after it has been delivered! At this rate could be next xmas before I get it. Feeling a bit fed up with the slowness and bureaucracy!

How hard can it be for the invoice address to match the name of person who is paying?
