I've always said that I wish I lived in a warmer/dryer country because I get vey annoyed sometimes with bad, wet, rainy weather (I live in Scotland and there is plenty of it). But when you look at how we are taken care of RE our Health Care I guess we are extremely lucky. For many years I have suffered many accidents that have needed health care attention and if it wasn't for the normal working person who pays their tax dues I would have been gone a long time ago or hanging on by the shortest of threads. I have been in and out of many jobs because of my physical wellbeing and in many low paid jobs. I''m sure if I lived in the US I would have been treated so differently as I too would not have been able to pay for decent insurance cover. I don't know exactly how we do it Lorinn but I sure know we are lucky. We still have to fight tooth and nail though to get what we're due.

Hope you are getting better Tommy. Iain

When Tommy got sick in 2006 to 2008 to get disability we went through our 401 k all our savings. The system took all that we worked for and it seems they stilldo not want to help us. I was takeing care of my mom until she passed on Easter day .Tommy has been getting worse, my son with his disability it seems rough but We trust God for we can not trust ur gov't it seems.Tommy has been sick on his stomach. has not gotten up bu twice today. Everyone have a great day and night.

Hi Tommy & Shirley,
I'm in a similar boat... can no longer work, so no insurance. They estimate it will take at least three months for me to qualify for disability. Iain and Carol, we are working hard to fix the insurance problem in the States; but so many people are against universal health care; people who have no idea what it is like to go without it. I worked and paid taxes for 37 years. I raised two daughters mostly on my own. I paid into a system that I believed would take care of me should I ever need it. You guys seem to have moved past that. How in the world did you do it???

Thank you for your conecern.Tommy has not moved from the bed this morning, He is in alot of pain. Maybe later durning the week he will feel better. When you get on disability you have to wait 2 years and 6 months to get medicare. alot feel if you are disable then hey you need medicare. oh well. Have a great day

Sorry to hear about your fall Tommy. I guess we are lucky in Britain to have a National Health Service where we don't have to wory about insurance cover. Keep well and get better soon. Iain

Hello Thomas
I am sorry that you fell but pleased that nothing is broken. In this country you are treated irrespective, Insurance doesn't come into it, so I don't know much about it.
I am thinking of you and be careful.
Regards
Carol
