Been a busy few weeks here.
Two weeks back I went xmas shopping with a friend which is always exhausting but good for a change of scene. We go to a shopping centre which is about 30 mins from me (depending on traffic). I'm not that good at travelling these days and always seem to feel travel sick even with short journeys but fine as soon as I get out of car.
I have to go in my manual chair that folds small to fit in her car so just getting the chair together with levers on is a bit of a workout before we started any shopping! Luckily this shopping centre is mainly flat and has two nice big glass lifts that are easy to get in and out of. The nuDrive levers allow me to speed along with having to worry about getting fingers trapped, but is difficult if someone has to push as I cant hold stuff as I have to hold the levers out in neutral position while I am been pushed.
I enjoyed the shopping and we stopped for break and fish and chips and a Mr Whippy Ice-cream... YUMM! Didn't come home with many presents though, was hoping to get the kids presents sorted out but friend couldn't decide what they would want so only managed to get one for brother-in-laws new baby and something for my bro.
I did get myself some new slippers and socks from the Disney shop though and trade in some games I had finished. I got mario tennis which can play from sitting and gives your arms a good workout and a puzzle for the DS.
After a few days recovery and rest it was time for next big day out for brother-in-laws wedding.

Me with brother-in-law and his new wife
Another long day, as it takes me so long to get ready and have to rest inbetween I had to be up early.. alarm was set for 6am. shower and hair doing out of way first then breakfast and quick sit down before I had to take Inca for her run and sort out her food. Another quick rest, then friend arrived to dog sit, hair and make up to finish and suit to put on.
Then it was the travelling and 'car workout' getting chair together at other end, it was raining too we managed to get into hotel quick (it was civil wedding), quick brandy and coke in the bar while was waiting for everyone to get their suits/dresses on etc.
The ceremony was nice and not as long as the church one, then was back to bar (YIPPEE) for drinks and some snacks while they were getting the dining hall and dinner ready. I did love the tempura prawns with sweet chilli sauce went down great with Brandy and coke!
The dinner was posh, with 4 courses first one was just fruit on a plate.. not my kind of thing.. but the soup was nice and main meal. I couldn't eat the pudding shaped like tower cos it had nuts in so just had the Baileys ice-cream. Managed to get through dinner without spilling anything on my self and get in and out of toilet with the crutches.. remarkably also without falling over even after about 7 brandies!!!
It was a lovely day and I got a few pics then my brother drove me home.. didn't go to night do.. one cos i was knackered from been up since 6am and secondly cos he was driving me home so he couldn't start drinking until after and he was best man. Also I couldn't afford to stay over in hotel after I just had to have new tyres on my powerchair which were another £200!
I did have a nice day though, its nice for a change but takes so long to recover from I couldn't manage having to go out every day in day and evening. I think I do well to manage getting out with twice with Inca every day and fitting in housework, physio and writing blogs!!
A break now till my next trip out which will be xmas dinner at my brothers. Time to chill out and finish my xmas shopping online!

me with family - from left to right.. father-in-law, mother-in-law, my brother and his wife (who were best man and bridesmaid at this wedding)
