Hello everyone

When I am stood or walking I get very sore heels after a very short period of time. I know it is the way I walk and that standing puts pressure on the heels. I have tried insoles and gel heels, all to no avail .Does anyone else get this problem, and if so how do you get around it? Perhaps it is something I will have to live with!

Regards

Carol

Hi Carol.
I often wake up at night with my heels aching really badly. As you know I don't walk at all so that's ruled out (For me)
I have to sit on the edge of the bed for a few minutes with my feet on the floor and it passes.
In my case my Doctor said it could possibly be connected to water retention in my feet. Who knows though.

Hello Bill
It's murder isn't it? They think mine is 'plantar something or other'.I can't get away from it. It's to do with the way I try and walk. When I am sat it goes away. The soles of my heels feel (apart from the pain) as though they are on fire.
As you say 'fight the good fight' - we have no option.
Love to you and Joe (I could steal Joe, he's lovely)

Dear Carol
I own up to being a computer nitwit as have only just, this minute, found out how to access the Forum and personal messages. If I click on the e-mail link and do odd things to the mouse, I can get in. Thank you very very much for your birthday wishes, they were appreciated. Now I've got you again perhaps we can talk about your ballroom dancing and sterling work with animals. Did you see Martin Clunes and his horse Chester? The programme is a series and the first one, ten days ago, was marvellous. I can't ride now, and if given a leg up fall off the other side!! (I think it's quite funny)

Hello Sarah Jane
I did see the Martin Clunes programme , it was good. Chester is lovely. Martin Clunes also has dogs and he did a programme on dogs sometime ago. I know what you mean about riding, it's not for Ataxians - a long way to fall!!! Mind you I am exploring Riding for the Disabled, I'll let you know how I get on. Mounting is not so much of a problem it is the balance when you are sat. A high backed saddle should do the job.
Ask me anything you like about dancing/dogs/cats, I will try to answer. If I don't know the answer I'll know someone that does. It would be good to talk about it. My friend came today and we talked about my days at work, it was good to remember those times.
I hope you had a good birthday.
Take care
Carol
