Event Overview
Ride Ataxia NorCal will take place in the scenic foothills of Northern California from Folsom, CA to Grass Valley, CA and back on March 15 and 16, 2009. The two day route will cover 110 miles. The event will also include 10 and 25 mile route options, on March 15, inviting all levels of riders.

Beneficiaries
Presented by Outback Steakhouse, Ride Ataxia NorCal benefits the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA) and the UC Davis School of medicine.

Event History
Founded by Kyle Bryant, the Ride Ataxia team has traveled 3300 miles in three years raising invaluable awareness for Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA) and bringing together $830,000 in research funds. Friedreich’s ataxia is a debilitating, life-shortening, degenerative neuro-muscular disorder. Ride Ataxia NorCal will combine the personal physical test of the historically challenging Ride Ataxia event with a family atmosphere inviting all levels of riders.

Schedule of Events
(Rain or Shine) 7:30-10:30 Registration open for all rides. 8:30-9:00 50 mile ride start. 9:15-9:45 25 mile ride start. 10:00-10:30 10 mile ride start.

Cost
Day 1, 10 or 25 Mile Ride: Individual - $35 Earlybird Registration- by 3/31; Post 3/31- $45. Team (up to 10 riders)- $300 Earlybird Registration; Post 3/31- $400. Each team member may choose either ride lengths. Day 1 & 2- 110 Mile Ride: Individual - $75 Earlybird Registration- by 3/31; Post 3/31- $85. Team (up to 10 riders)- $700 Earlybird Registration; Post 3/31- $800.

Fundraising
Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email directing you to a website for fundraising. This website will allow you to set-up you own fundraising page and give you the tools to reach out to family and friends in support of your ride. Individuals raising $500 or above and teams raising $4000 or above will receive a Ride Ataxia NorCal jersey.
