The Inaugural Ataxia Spring Classic will be held on Sunday, April 29th 2012, starting between about 9:00 to 10:00am
The ride will start and finish at Clymping Hall, nr. Ford, West Sussex, where Ataxia South Downs hold their meetings.
The event will be limited to invited riders, up to about 60 participants.
There will be 2 rides available – a 50-60 mile route tackling at least 2 iconic South Downs climbs (Bury and Duncton hills), and a gentler 20 mile route to Chichester and back.
The 20 mile route is aimed at trike users, and occasional riders.
We aim to get as many people with Ataxia as possible either riding or assisting on the day.
Refreshments will be available both at the start and finish of your ride, and part way round the long course. The courses will be marked, and riders will have a map. We will have a rescue wagon, and 'cuts and bruises' first aid assistance.
Entry will be £20, payable by cheque to Ataxia South Downs, c/o A Downie, 8 Pinehurst Gardens, West Byfleet, Surrey, KT14 6HB. You must also commit to raising at least £200 via justgiving or similar (we can help you set up the pages, all money raised goes to Ataxia UK).
There is ample parking near the hall and good places for lunch after the ride nearby.
You can find out more about Ataxia at ataxia.org.uk, Ataxia South Downs Branch at ataxiasouthdowns.co.uk and for places you can email andy@downies.plus.com.
